Jonathan Toews recently spent some time helpig out at the Canadian Tire Hockey School (he is a founding member), and for that we applaud him. It's always nice to see the best players in the NHL helping out the youngsters who represent the future of the game.

Unfortunately for one of the happy camp-goers, he and the former Conn Smythe winning forward had an accidental collision in the neutral zone, which was captured by the CTV camera's.

Have a look, and a quick lesson as to why one of the first fundamentals involved in youth hockey is to always keep your head up.

Yes, Toews will be OK, but sadly there was no update given on whether or not the kid was OK (obviously he took the worst of it), and we've sent an e-mail to the hockey school in an effort to find out. We'll update if we hear back.

Toews is a monster, never afraid to play the body and dish out some pain.   Good for Toews, I read the kid was being "chippy" with him all session.  Nice to see Toews assert himself....hope that kid's okay.

is this serious? obviously the kid is fine, this is hockey and he went down softly. Is the pussification of America making its way in to Canada? I hope not.
