PITTSBURGH -- After racing out to a two-goal lead in the first period the Colorado Avalanche had a bit of a meltdown on Tuesday, allowing five consecutive goals in Pittsburgh to fall by a 6-3 margin, losing for the ninth time in their past 12 games. The game had a great flow at times as the two teams exchanged chances, and it also featured two of the nicest goals we've seen across the NHL this year.

First, Colorado's third-year standout, Matt Duchene, made a ridiculous move between the circles to drag the puck between his legs and dangle around Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury to deposit the puck into an empty net for his seventh goal of the season. Duchene was one of the best players on the ice for much of the game, especially through the first two periods, recording seven shots on goal -- including the one he scored on -- in just over 17 minutes of ice-time.

Not to be outdone, Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin scored what proved to be the game-winner early in the third period when he forced a turnover behind the net, and then proceeded to turn Gabriel Landeskog and Semyon Varlamov inside-out on his way to his fifth goal of the season.

Two outstanding plays, but which one tops your highlight reel for the night?

I know it came in the losing effort, and the goal itself is probably no consolation on a night where his team surrendered five unanswered goals (and it wasn't), but I'm tempted to go with Duchene's as the better play. But it's close. To be able to pull that move off at that speed is incredible.

Said Duchene after the game, "I kinda forgot about it, but it was a great play by Pauly (Stastny). He made a great pass to me and I was just able to free myself up for an open net. I think we're a little but disappointed as a line because we felt like we played a good enough game to score two or three more and just weren't able to do it. Had some bad bounces, a post, some chances that just didn't go in. We could have put the game away early with any luck."

Duchene vs. Malkin: Which goal is better?

I think both goals were fantastic.  What is really amazing is how these two goals were scored in the same game.  That doesn't happen too often

Duchene vs. Malkin: Which goal is better?

I thought both goals were amazing.  I wish it would of shown the entire shift before Malkin scored.  Managed to steal the puck really grinding it out.  Then to finish the play with that move was cool to see.  I love seeing guys really putting the work in get rewarded with a goal.
I think skill wise Duchene wins by a mile though.  When I was watching it.  I actually looked at tv and said "what??"  Had to wait for the replays to figure out how the puck had gone from the skate on leg he was dragging to the back of net so fast.  With skills like he has no wonder he gets in a little over his head trying to do it all sometimes.

Duchene vs. Malkin: Which goal is better?

Malkin's goal was better due to his soft hands and great puck control not only did he leave the defensemen in the dust he made the goalie look horrible. Also how can anybody hate the PENS? Best player in hockey sidelined and still have best record in East. Hating the pens is like hating apple pie? If your a true hockey fan then you have to love what 66 has done with this team. 10 years ago there was talk of pittsburgh losing there hockey team. Since then they have been in multiple finals and have a new arena with a team of no names. Dont hate?  APPRECIATE

Duchene vs. Malkin: Which goal is better?

I hate both of these teams so it allows me to be impartial.  Duchene's was by far better.  That took a lot more talent to pull of than Malkin's goal.  Not saying Malkin  doesn't have talent, just saying this particular goal had less than Duchene's

Duchene vs. Malkin: Which goal is better?

Duchene's was better, what was funny when he tried the same move later and got crushed, the Pens where like oh no, don't try that one again.

Duchene vs. Malkin: Which goal is better?

Both of these goals were great, but I would say for different reasons...

Duchene's was a sick display of skill, the ability while moving to drag it through the legs, beat not only a world class d-man like Orpik, but to sweep it past Fluery on the backhand, well it was beautiful and as a Pens fan it kills me to say that...

Malkin's goal was more determination... he fought for the puck, managed to get it free, get a ridiculous pass from Neal as he was skating away, tip it between the defenseman's legs (albeit a little lucky) and then mark poor Varly look sick as he depositied him on his keister... and then he gets dumped with the lid popping up and down...

Duschene's goal was a better as the skill was remarkable, Malkin... well, the price you pay fro greatness, it is expected of him to make us go wow!!!

Duchene vs. Malkin: Which goal is better?

I am a huge Pens fan and Duchene's goal was better. It had more difficulty than Malkin's.  Duchene took the pass...passed it to himself through his legs and buried it with a backhand from 10 ft away.  Malkin had a great forecheck and took the pass made a stick handling move which was the best feature of the goal and faked the shot and swept it into the goal from around the top of the crease.  With the difficulty and moves Duchene's is the winner.

Great game. Avs got on us early but it just shows our character to come back and score 5 unanswered goal to take this one.  This team is unbelieve and unlike last year we are always in the game doesn't matter what the score we can come back. Last year I believe we had only 1 game we came back and forced an overtime and won.  This year I can think of 3 or 4 times we came back and tied or took the lead in the final period.  Amazing, simply amazing!

Duchene vs. Malkin: Which goal is better?

I agree, this isn't even close.  Malkin's goal showed a lot of effort in fore checking, great skating ability, and great hands, but that goal by Duchene has to be one of the best goals I have ever seen...

Duchene vs. Malkin: Which goal is better?

I'm a Pens fan and this isn't even close - Duchene's was way better.
