At this point, Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger is pretty much a one-man M*A*S*H unit.

Currently sidelined for the next few weeks after having surgery on his knee, which came after he missed a couple of weeks after taking a stick in the eye, and was then out with what the Flyers called a "virus," it was reported on Friday that the veteran defenseman is also suffering from concussion-like symptoms.
More Chris Pronger Injuries

It's entirely possible, if not likely, that the "virus" had something to do with the concussion symptoms he's currently experiencing.

"While Chris' knee is improving, he has struggled with other issues that are concussion-like symptoms," said general manager Paul Holmgren in a team statement. "Chris will see Dr. Joe Maroon and Dr. Mickey Collins on Wednesday, December 14th in Pittsburgh for further evaluation. Chris will be out indefinetly."

Dr. Mickey Collins, of course, is the same doctor that Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby has been seeing over the past year.

Pronger isn't the only player on the Flyers currently dealing with concussion symptoms, as Holmgren also announced that forward Brayden Schenn will also be out indefinitely with a mild concussion. Said Holmgren in the same statement, "Brayden reported 'not feeling himself' on December 5th. Our doctors believe he has a mild concussion."

Don't disrespect Pronger, idiot! Check his resume. If the flyers had a goalie he would have another cup. He may not be Lindstrom but he is a great player non the less. There is only one Lindstrom and thats what make him special. Pronger may be a jerk but he has put his blood, sweat and tears in this game and should be respected as such. You hate the flyers that why you make these stupid remarks. He is a Hockey Warrior and you know it!

Pronger, Schenn out with concussion symptoms

There were many Flyer fans, not all, that were calling Crosby names for not playing with his concussion. So is Pronger the same thing that you called Crosby or are all of you who did that just a bunch of hypocrites. Uh, nevermind I already know the answer.

I hate the Flyers but I wouldn't wish any player on any team to get diagnosed with concussions.

Pronger, Schenn out with concussion symptoms

Boy I guess I was right when I said GM Holgrum should have his head examined for getting Chris Pronger in his mid-late 30's. All that mileage. All that wear 'n tear. And now you see why. Once dishing out concussions enjoys having one for himself. Not fun is it Chrissy? He may still have a young face, but he is riding on brittle bones. Drink more milk Chris and start playing like Swedish Legend Nicklas Lidstrom. Oh forgot! Your reputatin proceeded you. Good for 007, not you!

Pronger, Schenn out with concussion symptoms

Is it just me or does it seem like concussions have exploded in recent years? I think maybe in the past they were just lumped into the "upper body injury". And players were probably given heavy pain-killers and sent back onto the ice.

As much as I hate Chris Pronger, I hope he and Schenn recover, especially for when the Flyers and Pens renew acquaintances. Last night was kind of a dud with so many players out with injury.

By the way, did you all see the NYT video on Boogaard? Scary stuff...

Pronger, Schenn out with concussion symptoms

First it's a virus that spread to his knee and now the knee surgery gave Pronger a concussion.   Wow, not good for Pronger.

I hope Dr. Mickey Collins knows what' he's doing, he has about 3 Penguins out with concussion-like symptoms too.
